Advanced Powerboat - Algarve Nautical School

The Basics:

This nautical program is designed to impart advanced skills in boat handling, seamanship, pilotage, and navigation, meeting the standards necessary for safe operation of planing powerboats day and night in tidal coastal waters. Conducted in the challenging conditions familiar to candidates, the course elevates proficiency to navigate in more demanding scenarios. Taking place on a powerboat with a minimum length of 6 meters and an engine size suitable for planing at coastal speeds, this advanced training is tailored to empower participants with the expertise needed for coastal passages. Join us at our Algarve-based nautical school for an immersive and comprehensive learning experience in advanced powerboat operation.

Required Experience:

Candidates should be competent to the level of the Intermediate Powerboat Certificate with a knowledge of the navigation and chartwork to the level of Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster Offshore Shorebased certificate.

Minimum Duration:

2 days including at least 1 night navigation exercise

Able to plan and execute coastal trips and return to a familiar port by night

Format:

The course predominantly takes place afloat however some elements, specifically navigation, are classroom based.
