The Basics:
Designed in conjunction with the Professional Yachting Association this course is intended to build on a candidate's basic powerboating knowledge and skills. Attendees will gain confidence in their ability to manoeuvre a powerboat more smoothly. The emphasis is on learning important skills in day and night pilotage and passenger carriage and management. This course is very useful for anyone operating a powerboat day or night with responsibility for carrying passengers. The course includes plenty of time to practice working with a crew member and operating short-handed. Candidates will practice and become familiar with pilotage for short passages from ship to shore, both day and night.
Required Experience:
No prior experience is necessary, though completion of Level 1 Start Powerboating is recommended to enhance foundational skills. Our program is designed to accommodate both beginners and those seeking to refine their powerboat operation abilities.
Minimum Duration:
Immerse yourself in a 2-day intensive training program where you'll master powerboat operation and seamanship. Our holistic approach ensures a deep understanding of the intricacies involved, equipping you with the skills to navigate diverse marine scenarios confidently.
Minimum Age:
Enroll at the age of 12; candidates under 16 will receive a certificate with an endorsement, reflecting our commitment to responsible and supervised powerboating for younger enthusiasts. Safety and mentorship are integral aspects of our curriculum.
