The Basics:
The essential skills and foundational knowledge required for a proficient powerboat driver, forming the core of the International Certificate of Competence, are provided in this course. Emphasizing boat handling and seamanship in powerboats, the curriculum centers around low-speed close-quarters maneuvering, effective man overboard recovery techniques, an introductory exploration of driving at planing speed, and a comprehensive understanding of collision regulations. The training is conducted aboard fast planing ribs in coastal waters, specifically tailored to equip participants with the precise skills necessary for operating a boat in the local maritime environment. The course serves as a comprehensive guide for individuals seeking competence in powerboat navigation and is designed to meet the standards set by the International Certificate of Competence.

Securing to a Buoy: Explore techniques to securely anchor your boat to a buoy, an essential skill for safe navigation and stability in various conditions.

Leaving and Coming Alongside Maneuvers: Master the techniques of leaving and coming alongside docks and other vessels with confidence and precision.
Comprehensive Man Overboard Procedures: Acquire in-depth knowledge and practical expertise in handling man overboard situations, ensuring swift and effective responses to emergencies.
Certificate issuing criteria:Self-sufficient powerboater in the right conditions, aware of own limitations and those of the craft
Format:
Predominantly practical but with some classroom elements.
